Will be in town for a wedding with little ones next year, so hoping to stay in an area with no partying and as safe as possible being that it’s NOLA. Can anyone personally recommend a place to stay? I was hoping to find a place with 2 or preferably 3 bedrooms. Thanks!

Lots of areas uptown, mid city(near Bayou St John), etc.
Not sure if the maps for selecting properties really break out the neighborhoods, but Lakeview, Lakeshore, Lake Vista are all quite.

Do you really need three bedrooms as that may limit you.?
The hotels in the warehouse district are safe.

Thanks

Two bedrooms will probably work, but was hoping for one bedroom for the babysitter, one for us, and one for the childfolk. But obviously can adjust.

I would stay near the lake front, around Lakeview if you're looking for quiet and no partying.

If you're looking for safe go to a different city, it hasn't been safe here for a long time.

I find people overthink this. If OP is just coming in town to chill to do some family friendly stuff and go to a wedding, he's way more likely to get hurt in a wreck driving to the city then from violent crime.

But yes, Nola has gotten worse and you have to be aware of surroundings more than ever.

Agreed. Also I’m there frequently and have family in NOLA, grew up on the northshore, and I read the OT daily (lol) so I’m not ignorant of the situation down there.

Not sure what you're interested in doing while you're down there but I'll propose something a little different...partially because the city is of basically no interest to me.

What about a lake rental on Lake Catherine (on Chef Mentuer Hwy)? A place like this around a 35 minute drive to the CBD, comes with Kayaks, washer dryer, can go fishing, do some boating, take the boat to Northshore Beach in Slidell, etc.

That does look pretty awesome! But I’m not looking for an experience, it’s a close family member getting married and we are in the wedding so need quick, convenient, but very safe and quiet for little tiny ones! The weekend will be packed with wedding activities.

Before you come to NO....sign-up for a concealed carry permit and bring a sidearm for protection. I live in a suburb of NO. I no longer visit NO for any reason...never. The uptick in crime (daily shootings, murders, robberies, car jacking, broken car windows, house break ins) has increased greatly this past couple of years...even in so called "safe" areas. I'm not saying don't visit NO. I'm saying be very cautious and be aware of your surroundings and watch closely people around you. Tourist are targeted because they look most vulnerable and are easy prey. Most important items is to bring your sidearm (or two) and know how to use it.
