His response:

"The guy starting tonight was the Friday night guy at first of season. He struggled but had a mid week start a couple of weeks ago and did ok. Friday starter could go an inning. It is his normal day to do bullpen pitching."

Sounds like they have a little left in the tank, but not a whole lot.

If this turns into a slugfest, I think thats advantage LSU.

I feel like this is a fact against everyt team in America, except for the midcontinental Juice junkies

They have played an extra game and their pitching should be worse than what we have left, but I doubt it unfolds that way. If last night was an example of a guy who barely pitched all year shut us down, we may be in for a quick end to our season.

Yep. Has pitched one inning since April 19th.

Maybe, but the bottom of the lineup HAS to contribute. I think I heard them mention around the 6th or 7th inning last night that 6-9 batters were 0 for 10 at that point. That is unacceptable and not a formula for us to win.

I couldn't understand how the USM guy last night shut us down. The ball had no movement but apparently our batters couldn't see ball coming out of the pitchers hand very well.

They didn’t use their top 2 bullpen arms.

He was a lefty and we suck against leftys. If all they have are right handed guys left I like our chances.

Well their plate approach last night tells me otherwise.

Agree, both teams pitching is thin now, comes down to the bats, and our bats are better than their bats. Tigers win!

They have lefties available, 2 that haven't pitched at all yet in the regional.

Can we count on a guy like Shaffer to throw 5 shut out innings like their lefty did last night?

That and Stevenson not having a clue, is what was so damn painfully frustrating about last night.
