so reading the 24/7 article on the issue... Russell is a converted outfielder turned catcher

Taylor (the RS Fr. starting tonight) is a natural catcher... so he could be better defensively than Russell... but obviously he has the issue when in the batter's box as I noted above

if something were to happen to Taylor... the next catcher up is another converted outfielder who only has 1 good leg right now

so... this could be a beyond huge loss for Tennessee
