Just a reminder. 20 years ago wasn’t 1982. It was 2002.

My dad kept a spittoon on the table next to his recliner.

Pretty similar to this bad boy

Mid to late 70’s.

My dad smoked way back then. I think he quit @ 1977.

My grandparents smoked inside until 1990ish. Pawpaw would get off work, sit in his recliner, and smoke away. Mawmaw would go sit in the bathroom with the window above the toilet open so no one would see her. She got a cordless phone that was a game changer - she could sit in there for an hour and smoke while talking to her sister…who lived next door.

Do y'all remember the little foil ashtrays in McDonald's? We used to smoke cigs in the one in Central after school.

Nothing was more freeing than ripping heaters in the house in college. It's been about 4 years since I kept an ashtray in the house and I don't smoke cigs anymore.

Never.

Grandparents definitely had them all over back in the day, but I never lived there.
