As of Tuesday, June 15, fully vaccinated persons traveling to the British Virgin Islands (B.V.I.) will no longer need to quarantine upon arrival. These travelers will also no longer need to take an arrival (Day 0) test or wear a geo-fencing device.

Here’s what you need to know:

Vaccinated travelers are still required to take an RT-PCR test or an approved rapid antigen test within five days of travel; they must also show evidence of full vaccination and receive a BVI Gateway Traveler Authorization Certificate at a reduced cost of $35 (this remains a cost of $105 for non-vaccinated travelers). To receive the certificate, travelers will also need medical travel insurance that covers COVID-19-related costs. The review will take 24 hours, then travelers will receive their certificate.

Sorry. I searched for information within the last month.

Entering the BVI as of June 3, 2022

I’ll keep looking for reentry into the USVI. If they require a test if traveling by plane I’d bet it’s the same for the ferry.

I just posted in the other thread about it. The CDC only mentions air travel. They refer you to homeland security for land/sea ports which state no test required. USVI removes all info on their site and now just tell you to follow CDC instructions. Its very vague and annoying. So I called the US port in St John where you clear customs and he said no more testing required for reentry. I asked some of the bigger ferry companies today too (Dolphin, Island Time, Inter Island) who all said no more testing to get back too.

Not to derail this thread but I know you know a lot about the USVI. I pulled the trigger and booked flights from NOLA to St Thomas (MSY to STT) and we are renting a nice house overlooking Chocolate Hole on St John during the middle of July. However, I cannot seem to get a jeep/car rental place to respond to me via email.

Any tips on renting a Jeep in SJ?

While we will cook some at the rental, any recommendation of restaurants or other suggestion for week there would be nice too.

I'd start calling places. I have heard that people have had trouble getting rentals. One option might be to rent on St. Thomas and take the car ferry.

One of the car ferry companies

Eating.

Extra Virgin is a must. It's probably the best restaurant on the island. If you do a boat day around St. John I'd go to Lime Out for cocktails and tacos on the water. Ocean 362 at Gallows Point has a great sunset view if you sit at the bar. Morgan's Mango is touristy but good. The Banana Deck and La Tapa are also good.

Take a ride to the other side of the island one day and have lunch at Skinny Legs.

Enjoy!!

If you do a boat day to Jost van Dyke between the 17th and 24th you'll probably find me in the middle of the party on White Bay.

We will be there from 14th to 20th so you never know. If you hear someone screaming "Where you at VABuckeye"....it's me.

That would be awesome. I've met TD people in Cabo and Spain. It would be nice to add Jost.

Of course, I've met most of the Ohio State guys (at least the good posters) at Ohio State games.

Nice!!

The views from the villa we are staying at on Jost. One side Great Harbor and the other is White Bay. Only house on the island with a view of both.

I guess all the jeep places are on "island time" as this is the second once that is in no hurry to reply to my email request for a rental.

I am looking forward to being on "island time" as well!

I had a flyer sent to me from someone on the Island. They have a list of food, car rentals, things to do break down.

Car Rentals on St. John:

Slimman’s Jeep Rental

Sunshine’s Jeep Rental
LINK

Mr. Piper’s Jeeps
LINK

Aqua Blu

St. John Car Rental

Car Rentals on St. Thomas:

Amalie Car Rental: www.amaliecar.com

I saw you might already have something, but if not I would just go down this list. We rented from Sunshine I believe.

Well, good luck. Get all that planning stress out now.

There is no time to stress during Island Time, remember that.

If you haven't already, I would try reaching out to some of those other ones...Just to see if they have what you are looking for.

I've found Aqua to be the most responsive out of all of those I've contacted. I'll be there the same time as you and got one from them, but I booked it in December. Sorry they are out.

I got 2 hours to kill before our boat gets us in Red Hook (waiting on friends to fly in). What’s the best restaurant there at the Yacht Harbor for lunch?

We stopped at Margarita Phil's.

It was a good pit stop for margs and chips. That's the only place we stopped though.
