Bama fans are way oversold on Saban. Might win a NC, but he is no bear bryant. They will find out in the next few games. Nicky is very good, but even at LSU he was good for three losses a year, save one.

Interesting. Saban doing a pretty good job with Shula's recruits, except against ULM.

Funny how the 2004 loss to Georgia is mentioned nowhere in this article.

lol White Tiger

I hope he lives at least until Alabama gets another national championship -- at this rate he's good for another hundred years.

some one brought that up on his comments page and he dodged it several times, later on he said something about having a "hangover" from the NC....i was amazed.

This dude is sitting around collecting a check with nothing else to do but stew on his personal jealousy of how much better Les did with Nick's players than Nick could do.

Franklin seems like a total moron and loser to me.

"I played the game so I know what it takes to win."

Yeah, Franklin . . . PEE WEE football doesn't count, Cock Gobbler.

What I don't understand is when LSU fans talk about Nick Saban (i agree it's retarded and people just need to STFU) all the Alabama fans feel the need to chime in about "oh you must be nervous" or "obviously you are scared of what we'll become"; but you always...ALWAYS see Alabama fans feeling the need to degrade Les Miles in a way to build Nick Saban up. Gumps, you should be able to build Saban up on his merit not on the constant comparison to Les Miles.

Wow... talking about beating off lil Nicky...

Everywhere Saban has been he has left his mark, and that mark has left everywhere he has been, better than it was before his arrival.

Now that I think about it, he really left the Miami Dolphins better.

That was harsh!

Well, the ball is in Les's court. He can easily expose this hack.

I can tell you that the team will seem significantly more disciplined in this and future games. I do not beleive you will see any trash talk either.

What Is Wrong With LSU? The Nick Saban Effect Is Wearing Off for Les Miles

i hope so. i hated losing to teams like uab.

quote:

Then he must have smiled when it sank in that he was being handed a team that had more great athletes than any other team in the country—all thanks to LSU's previous coach, Nick Saban.

he meant to say thanks to being in louisiana right?

LMAO!! Look at the poll:
Who will win a National championship first?

I believe Les Miles already won one at LSU. The ball's in Saban's court now.

I have to admit, Les Miles is a pretty good recruiter, and he's certainly not afraid to take a chance. But at the same time, even the most diehard LSU fan has to think how LUCKY Les Miles was last year to win the national championship. You guys literally backed into the game after losing during the last week of the regular season.

And in addition to the luck of the other teams losing that final weekend as well, you had NUMEROUS games that went down to the wire and you guys could have EASILY lost them. True, the better athletes won those games, but still. The Auburn game showed his TERRIBLE clock management skills, and you can't even argue that. The CB tips the ball up in the air and the game is over, Auburn wins. If JPW could have held on to the ball like a competent QB, we would have beaten you too.

In my opinion, Les Miles has had the superior athletes against EVERY TEAM he has faced since being at LSU. And he still loses 2 games per season? Don't get me wrong, that's a great record, but I could name several coaches that could put up those numbers with players as good as LSU has been fortunate enough to have.
