Nola and Lange benefited from dead bats and balls

Sure, but they still had great stats.

If you want the best LSU pitcher of the Gorilla ball era, it was Paul Byrd.

Byrd: 31-11, 319 Ks
McDonald: 29-14, 373 Ks
Lange: 30-9, 406 Ks
Nola: 30-6, 344 Ks

Paul Byrd has a 17 win season at LSU

Ask Skip… the innings… Ks per inning.

Lloyd Peever had the greatest season by any LSU pitcher. That is not an argument. Ask Skip.

Peever for a single season and it isn’t close.

Win loss record is the most absolutely worthless pitching stat in existence.
