What are your thoughts on the phrase “well regulated”?

This is such a stupid argument. There is a legitimate problem with gun violence in this country and letting a document written almost 300 years ago, when it would take longer to reload a fricking gun than it takes me write this paragraph, to justify not doing anything about it is just head in the sand bullshite.

As to the OPs question, I think the easiest to implement measures would be more testing up front similar to how drivers licenses are done. I think you should have to pass a written gun safety test as well a practical safety class and then have a psyche eval done to make sure you aren't a fricking crazy person with a legally owned weapon. Then every few years you get the license renewed with similar steps having to be taken.

Now is that a perfect system? Of course not. I'm not naive enough to think the murder rate would be reduced to zero overnight by making it harder to buy a gun. However, the amount of shootings in this country is just stupid. Having to put armed guards in schools is mind bogglingly absurd, yet that's where we are as a country.
