Gov: Lindy Blanchard - I would go Lew, but I don't think he'll get enough votes to win a runoff and I want MeeMaw out, and Lindy appears to be more MAGA than MeeMaw or James.
Sen: Mo Brooks
5th Con (Mo's replacement): Casey Wardynski - He's being backed by the Freedom Caucus.
AG: Steve Marshall - He fought against the vaccine mandates, so he's earned my vote on that front.
ALSC: I guess Cook - mainly because Jones' commercial makes her seem a little crazy even though the commercial also shows that she's staunch on 2nd amendment.
SoS: I was thinking Allen, but I'm open for someone to convince me on Horn (I'm not considering the other two).
Auditor: Andrew Sorrell - but I'm open to hear why I should vote for someone else.

Also, I think I'm voting No on the amendment. I don't think we need to be spending $85 mil on parks right now with the state of the economy.

This is what I am hoping happens... Just so MeeMaw doesn't get 50% of the vote, it really only matters who the number 2 is in the runoff...

On the amendment….

We have a beautiful state park here in north Alabama, Joe Wheeler State Park, that is in great need of repair, refreshing, and updating. There are many others in the same situation. I’m voting yes on the amendment.

A runoff happens if no one gets 50%. A vote for Lew is the same as a vote for Blanchard if your goal is to get a runoff, but I guess if you like Blanchard more than James that makes sense.

Horn's video on his website sold me. He strikes me as a staunch conservative black man, and we need far more of those. He even used the history of black people in Alabama to explain why he is conservative, and we need far more black men in positions of power at the state level who can do this effectively. I honestly don't have strong feelings about the other candidates, but to me this is exactly the kind of person we need to help continue to grow the GOP in Alabama. LINK, video at top of the page.

In this race, Stan Cooke and Andrew Sorrel both seem to want to use this office as a springboard to other offices, so I was leaning Rusty Glover because he clearly stated he wants to actually serve the function of auditor.

But then I read this article in al.com about them LINK and I came to this part about Cooke and the Board of Registrars and I was sold on him:

quote:

Cooke said he only wants Republicans serving on the board of registrars in every county in Alabama. His campaign’s website said that the Auditor’s job is important in appointing those who want to assist in the election process, a duty that he said “we must get ahead of before the Democrats make their way to Alabama to try and steal our elections,” citing Pennsylvania, Arizona and Georgia.

Cooke also said he would like to have Jefferson County’s board of registrars appointed by state officials, and not through its county commission that is currently established through local legislation.

“We have a Republican controlled House and Senate and we have inherited a problem created by the Democrats that we need not treat Jefferson County (any different) than we treat Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, Limestone, and Baldwin. It should not get special treatment.”

The other two guys would not commit to appointing only conservatives, with Glover going so far as to claim it should be non-partisan. He lost my vote with that one statement. That weak crap is why our country loses.
