Mini Split Advice

Wife likes the bedroom cold at night, 65 F cold. Looking to add a minisplit to our master, instead of running the House AC to 65 every night. My only issue is that I only have one exterior wall, and its my patio wall that I'd rather not have lines running out of. The wall that would be the best option has a closet on the other side of it, so the lines would have to run through the attic.

That’s a lot of work to solve that problem. Maybe a bed fan, thinner blankets, etc. would be an option.
If you’re set on the mini-split option, they make ceiling mount cartridge units as well. You can mount it on an interior wall, but you’d have to account for the condensate line. The line set/power could run up and through the attic, but the condensate drain would have to be routed somewhere for a gravity drain.

A good a/c guy can make that work. Would problem need to put the condensate drain on a pump but I’m sure it could be done.

I have one. It's awesome. I do have my lines going through the attic and my condensate drain going a different route through my garage. Condensate drain will be your problem but there are pumps.

Just an update. I was looking around for different mini splits, and found this pretty awesome ceiling mounted mini split.
Pioneer Mini Split
Mounts right into the ceiling using the attic joists, and since the condensate line is already elevated, no need for a pump. Runs above my walk in closest, and out of my brick wall. Very large plus, is I can also run this off of my portable generator and keep a large portion of the house cool.

Not sure if he bought it and installed. Doesn't say. I'm sure the prices can vary wildly. If you can install maybe you can just find someone to vacuum and charge it. My mrcool still doing good work in this heat.

There are 3 Mr Cool units that are designed as DIY installations. The units come pre-charged and the lines are under vacuum. The lines and unit are equipped with fittings that have O-ring seals and plunger valves. When you screw the line connections onto each unit the internal valves open allowing the system to pressurize. The only difficult part of the install is physically running the lines.

I installed the unit myself, but I did pay $500 for wiring and freon charge. All in cost was $1700. Interested to see what my electricity bill is going to be, but we did just receive notification that our bill will be going up this month.

Yeah. I just installed one. My lines run through the attic and had to add extensions. The extensions and fittings are pricey but it's working better then expected.

Same here, needed 50ft of line, extension kit was more that half the cost of the system.
