You could likely fertilize the older section. Zoysia doesn’t require a ton of fertilizer, so I’d prob only go with 1/2-3/4 lb N per 1000 sqft.
This is a good recommendation.
Sod comes pre-fertilized, at least that’s my understanding, but that’s good for about 2 months, so your first 2 installations of sod would be ready for fertilization in the first 2 weeks of June. Then you can repeat again, for the entire lawn, in early August and you are done for the year.
With what? If applied at a 1/2 lb of N per 1000 sq ft, something like a controlled release 15-5-15, 16-0-8, lawn fertilizer applied at 3 1/3 lbs per 1000 sq ft would provide that 1/2 lb N. Look for something with a nitrogen content between 15 and 20%. 15-x-x to 20-x-x.
As stated, be cautious on your use of herbicides on newly sodded turf. Read the label on the herbicides you are using - it will state that.
Lastly, nice lawn, and storage shed.

Thanks guys! I should probably do the soil sample just to see where I'm at. I had a ton of topsoil brought in before doing the sod, so who knows what it looks like.
The zoysia is growing like gangbusters. Batch 1 and 3 came from Foley, AL. Batch 2 came from Donaldsonville. No comparison. Foley AL is better than Donaldsonville in every conceivable measure now including grass. It will all even out but the stuff from AL had a very thick soil and root layer. The LA stuff was like gauze and very uneven in growth length.
Thanks for the compliments. We're very fortunate to have such a great yard. Even adding the pool and tons of concrete at the house we still have a lot of yard. It's all great until you have to pay for 19 pallets of sod or hundreds of feet of fence materials.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconwah.gif)

Me...I wouldn't do anything to it just yet. I'd make sure all sections are well established and then uniformly fertilize all sections as one. It's been dry. You need several good rain soakings. With the new sod patience is a better approach than being aggressive.
