First off I am pretty sure that none of these new leases would affect gas prices one way or another for years as I am sure that it will take that long to tap the sources and put in the infrastructure to get it to the refinery.

Second, I am glad they are upping the lease royalties- that is helping American taxpayers versus GLOBAL corporations making more of the profits off American natural resources.

Third, no one is more thrilled by gas prices than the oil/gas industry itself- no matter what is available to them, they will titrate that supply as minutely as they can just to make the maximum profits they can because well, Capitalism. The moment the cost of gas shifts enough people's activities that the amount of gas sold is lowering too much, then they will amazingly enough find new supply- they always do.

We are all living in a time of huge social and economic changes that will likely become more evident to historians a hundred years into the future and these eras are NEVER a comfortable place to live- we just scored the lucky hit.

I want to go back to the part of history when fuel prices were affordable. And inflation wasn't setting 40+ year records every month. And our government wasn't actively working against the citizens.

Was only a couple of years ago.

Any more talking points to spread chief?

You forgot one about why the Biden administration has been canceling and slow walking lease sales since the first week in office.

the problem with this line of thinking is that years later comes around and oil will still be needed in a few years. in fact, obama suppressed drilling years ago and its now years later and here we are with high prices.

Look at that, an expert opinion on the industry from someone who clearly knows nothing about and has nothing to do with the industry. Try again, stop getting your information from today's news stations.
