Because 247 said he is “small” and “slow.”

5 stars are usually designated to guys who have great stats and test great not just one or the other.

Don’t look at stars look at offers

It may be the classification he plays in. His stats may not be as good in a higher classification

Undersized and lacks elite speed. A very good running back, but doesn't have that "wow" factor coming out of high school. Will likely develop into an elite talent once he gets on a college campus.

The RB's that are 5 star are usually big, fast, and strong. Fournette, Derrick Henry, Najee Harris, Adrian Peterson etc. Holly is a damn good player though. He'll be a treat to watch in college.

I asked a simple question and no one had answered it yet, but has downvoted me into oblivion.

could be a bunch of things:
1) level of competition. - Union Parish is a small school so maybe he is tearing up teams that only have 22 guys on the roster.
2) Size. - He is only 5'8 180. Maybe that factors in.
3) Speed. - I don't think this is an issue with Trey but maybe he only runs a 4.5 or something and combined with his size its an issue for evaluators.
4) How he performs at camps. - Maybe he doesn't go to many camps so he isn't fully evaluated or maybe he just doesn't shine the same way in cone drills that he does with pads on.

his size and the fact that he plays at a place most people cannot pick out on a map

Doesn’t pass the eyeball test. Stars don’t matter

Well, there are only 34 5*s, and Holly is at #184.

Union parish is not a small school it is 3A. They also play 4-A and 5-A teams every year. When occasionally tplay a 1-A or 2-A team it is an elite 1-A or 2-A team. The level of competition argument for him is a fallacy

Here’s the way I view recruiting running backs… if they’re good and from Louisiana, they’ll probably be good in college and play in the NFL for a decent amount of time.
