Yeah I guess I shouldn't have commented about ordering water. Nothing really wrong with it, but OP is sounding like a cheap arse in general. Of course restaurants are more expensive these days.

Also for all you cook every meal at home folks, I hope it's not a shocker for you to realize that most things you buy from the store is a lot more expensive as well.

Going out to eat with the wife or family once a week seems like a normal thing to me. No cooking and doing dishes has it's perks.

There really is nothing wrong with it and it's much better for you, but man, it's just not as enjoyable as drinking something with some flavor to go with good food when going out to eat. But yes, too many people drink sodas all day everyday.
