Go to Sunbelt rentals website.

Add $150/hr for an operator.

Figure that shite out yourself.

Around $1,500 for a week.

ETA - If you rent straight from Cat they turn those machines up. A 315 may do what you need.

They will typically not rent heavy equipment to someone who doesn’t have opteating experience on that particular piece of equipment. If you do not, you might as well figure in the cost of an operator as well.

Better hit up some mom and pops. No one worth a shite is renting something that big to a rando.

But I pay around $550 a day for something in that class.

I'm not saying no way to 1500/week but I'd be very surprised if you could walk into a rental outfit and rent one that size for that amount of money. More likely upwards of $2000 or more per week. Add your loss/damage waiver and/or rental protection plan, add delivery and pickup and you may easily exceed $3000/week. Then add fuel, and do not let them fuel it back up or they'll charge 8 or more bucks a gallon for it.

A Cat 316 is 38,000 lbs. Someone suggested a Cat 315 but that’s just a reduced radius Cat 313 excavator. The 316 runs about $675 a day and about $1900 a week (3 days equal a week in the rental world. Meaning if you have it for 3 days, you might as well keep it for 7. It’ll be the same rate)
Those are just the rental rates though. Do you need delivery and pick up? If so, add some money? Need the rental insurance? If so, add more money. Need any attachments like a hydraulic thumb?
8 hours a day, 40 hours a week runtime allowed.
Probably wouldn’t rent that size to an individual without a full blown credit application and account set up.

CAT 312 a few weeks back in the Hammond area cost me 2250/week plus another 300 delivery/pickup fee.

I had originally wanted a 315 or maybe even a 320 but the 312 was surprisingly powerful and got the job done.
