I read an article last week that said murders (overall, not just murders from guns) were up 21% from 2020.
The lockdown damaged people mentally. I watched 60 mins last night, from Sunday and there was a segment about how the shut down impacted kids. They were talking to a kid who was 10-12 years old and his mom.
His mom said she saw a gradual slide in him. At first we were told there would be a 14 day quarantine then it got to the point where there was no end in site. And that he wasn't able to be around his friends. And this kid said he truly thought about suicide. Anyway, it has had some type of impact because people have gone insane.

But federal researchers also cited increased social, economic and psychological stressors; disruptions in routine health care; tension between police and community members following George Floyd’s murder; a rise in domestic violence; inequitable access to health care; and longstanding systemic racism that contributes to poor housing conditions, limited educational opportunities and high poverty rates.
A honest person might possibly address the culture issues. Immigrants from SE Asia, India, etc don't have financial advantages but rapidly rise to the top of the socioeconomic ladder. And it is not because Americans have constructed a society to advantage non whites. It is because the immigrants who succeed work hard, don't kill other people, graduate from high school, and don't get pregnant out of wedlock

Typical liberal drivel
Don't address the real problem (black people subscribe to a culture that glorifies violence and drugs and guns)
Just blame socioeconomic bullshite
Sure

The rise corresponded to accelerated sales of firearms as the pandemic spread and lockdowns became the norm, the C.D.C. noted.
