Economics escapes these folks. Freedom to go elsewhere does as well
it's not that they don't even understand economics. there is a lack of understanding of production, energy storing, consumption, etc.
for the most part, how we've done things for the last 50 years are so are the most efficient and cost effective way to do things. not always. and it's not perfect. milk from a cow, like it or not, is the most effective way to get milk to the masses. milk from a plant is not, whether it's better for you or the environment.
coal, nuclear, natural gas are better and more capable ways of producing and storing energy than solar or wind and making it readily available and transported to the masses.
no car battery in production today can match the distance that a tank of gasoline can get you in similar vehicles.
i'm not saying that being green or going plant based is BAD. it's just that you're asking society to accept more expensive and less efficient method despite the fact that less expensive and more efficient methods exist.

I live in a town that is 80% black, and I'll bet there is not one black resident who gives a rat's arse about vegan milk options.

Do they cost Starbucks more?
The current liberal group think is that businesses shouldn’t make money and should eat costs “for the greater good.” The affordability of regular milk vs alternative milk has been a major annoyance for them, and this is them trying to force a business to close the gap.

In a related question, was that dude just born old? He's been old in every movie I can remember him in dating back to at least Revenge of the Nerds.
Maybe that's what happens when you don't get proper nutrition at birth or during your formative years, like from milk that comes from a living thing instead of an oat

Milk doesn’t come from plants

And lets be completely real here, Starbucks isn't a basic human right, its a fricking luxury regardless of dairy/vegan alternative.
How did we survive for so long with just milk, cream, and non dairy creamer (the powder stuff) in our coffee? All this vegan plant based crap only cropped up in the last few years. Coffee has been around for hundreds of years.

I’d relieve him of his phone and wallet while he was glued.

Good grief. Why can't the rest of us do this? Because we have to go to work.

More than 80% of the world’s almond crop is grown in California, which has been experiencing its worst drought on record. It takes 1.1 gallons (5 litres) of water to grow one almond, and thanks to the big profits they bring in, almond orchards continue to be planted (this isn’t to say cow’s milk, which takes about 100 litres of water to produce 100ml of milk, is more environmentally friendly – more that its production is not concentrated in one area of the globe).
quote:
almond farmers drilling thousands of feet down into aquifiers to pump out water has resulted, in some areas, in subsidence of around 11 inches a year, which “threatens vital infrastructure like bridges, roads, and irrigation canals” and could trigger earthquakes. Furthermore, insatiable demand for almonds is harming honeybees, already an embattled species. Almond trees need to be pollinated but bringing in 1.6m hives to California every year, “into an area dripping with insecticides is a recipe for disaster” writes Philpott (up to 25% of the hives were damaged in 2014), including whole colonies killed off; this spring they fared better after guidelines were issued about pesticide-use during the trees’ blooming season). It’s enough – or should be – to make anyone spit out their almond milk latte in alarm.

Starbucks are starting to look more and more like Walmarts or worse on the inside. I love how they charge $5 for a bottle of water and point out that they will donate 5 cents to charity for clean water. Wow! 5 cents per bottle ! Place is god awful.
Also - have you ever actually seen someone clean a Starbucks? No you haven’t, they are filthy and the bathrooms are disgusting. Frick that whole company
