It’s across both sexes. Denying bodily autonomy to a baby is not a winning strategy. How could you support the denying of their bodily autonomy? Especially when the bulk of abortions are voluntary because Chadquinta couldn’t pull out in time.

Leftists are at root anti-traditionalists. They're a vocal, predominately anti-social minority who disproportionately suffer from mental illness and familial issues.
They want to subvert the church, productivity, the family, the traditional manners of life in the United States. No norms are safe, honestly. Some probably do it because they see those as major obstacles to radical advances, others probably do it because they see those things as the symbols of their own inability to find a place and a purpose in American society.
Hence the obsession with disrupting childhood, redefining marriage and families, putting the state or school in charge of children, etc. Again, some of this is to clear a path for agenda pushing. But some of the motivations are more simplistic and emotional. Many of them will never have an enjoyable family life, and they don't want your perfect family to exist at all. They won't have kids, so pushing the optional termination of pregnancy for others renders the idea of pregnancy and childbearing less "natural" and more elective.

Their ideation of "freedom" is one that is falsely based upon a direct link with their own image of self-worth. This is all deeply rooted within virtue-signalling. "Hey, look at me, I stand in solidarity with those who stand for justice and freedom to express our views and do what we wish with our own bodies!"
As soon as a dissenting opinion is expressed, they interpret this as a directly personal attack on their own perverted sense of freedom and hence, self-worth. The most glaring piece missing here is that morality is nowhere a part of the equation.
This is why the progressives push so hard for relative morality - i.e. the absence of God (Evolutionary Theory as the framework), a moral law-giver. Because once objective morality is introduced, their dispositions entirely crumble at the foot of the judgement throne of God.

That would dictate that fetuses are not a form of life. Which is a falsehood considering your existence.

Bodily autonomy cuts both ways. It may not be convenient, and you may not want to recognize it, but it’s accurate. Call it a fetus, a clump of cells, a preemie, or a baby… it is a life form and Attempting to compare which life form is more autonomous, well that’s just plain discriminatory and disappointing.
