Sean Payton retires...Saints with no surprise picks...Coincidence?

This is the first year in a while where the board isn't melting (too much) after the first round. Was Payton pulling all of the draft strings?

Moving up to aggressively grab a player you covet doesn’t seem much different than a typical saints draft

I don’t think Payton pulled all the strings. It’s not a coincidence that we started drafting great when Ireland got here. I think the holes were extremely obvious this year. This was a good draft to have mid round picks when needing an OT and WR

Loved the initiative to get Olave since they knew a run on WRs was about to happen
Plus we’re still able to get a Day 1 starting RT
