KJ Williams is coming.
He's your 4.
At least, that's what they tell me.
Where you getting that, Mac?

No question.
You happen to know when the portal deadline for winter sports is?

EDIT: Fall and Winter Sports deadline to enter the Portal and be eligible this year are both Sunday May 1st.
Hope it's an exciting weekend!

Guy I talked to yesterday who's "in the know."

But of course these things are fluid and can't be trusted.

It does sound like McMahon and the coaching staff thinks they're going to bring Williams in. And it would make sense if they did.

What I was told was that unless Williams goes in the draft, and right now his stock isn't high enough for him to justify doing that, he'll come.

Really, if somehow McMahon could get Reid and Miller to stay and then he pulled Williams in from Murray State you'd have an exceptionally good roster to work with. But beyond Williams I really don't know what he's got up his sleeve. I just know you need a 5 and an outside shooting specialist to go with Williams who would be your marquee player, and if you could get that you're in a good spot.

Here's to a mountain of kids jumping into the portal - hoops and football - between now and Sunday.

I’d love to keep both Reid and Miller but a previous thread had VaTech feeling good about Reid and Mizzou feeling good about Miller.

It should be said we're not close to filling the roster. Any of - and hopefully 2 of - K.J./the big kid from NCState/Lofton would go a long way for scoring and team defense.

There are only 4 scholarship slots left. Let's hope we score some good ones with those.

If no other additions, starting 5 could be:

Hill
Hannibal
Wilkinson
Coleman
Reed

Two good and experienced ball handlers who know the coach's system, a starter from last year's team who is athletic and a great defender, a solid PF who scores and rebounds, and a talented 6'10" Fr post. That still leaves a 6'8" and 6'9" guy for depth and two solid backup guards that can play either guard spot. This is already a serviceable team.

Who in God’s name is going to score out of this lineup?

It'll be interesting because CMM's offense is much more scheme driven to get open looks where CWW's offense was much more driven on getting good matchups and exploiting them.

Hopefully with CMM we won't need the 1 on 1 scorer as much because we will work as a team to get guys good looks.

Hopefully, Miller will often be the business end of both of those.

Let's hope each player we pull jumps into the portal today or tomorrow and we need at least one less guy than we think. (Miller)

Wit chu but I like Hayes starting with some experienced scoring off the bench from Hannibal.
Hopefully, all this changes sooner than later.
