Isn’t Williams coming off a serious injury and not available for a while.
Hard to see anyone picking him top 10, if that’s the case.

He's purportedly ahead of schedule, but it's possible it could be October or November before he is ready to play. If you are a team that expects to compete now do you really want to wait until October to play a rookie WR, with minimal practice time, for the first time? Seems like he could be a wash for the 2022 season in terms of the production you hope to get out of your 1st round pick.

Then, you have to worry about the injury. ACL tears in general have become FAR less of a concern than they used to be. But Williams is a guy whose best attributes are speed and suddenness. It is one thing to have a QB like Joe Burrow come back and be fine a year after such injury because he's not really relying on speed and suddenness to be great. A guy like Williams without those attributes is not a 1st round pick

The Saints M.O. for some weird as hell reason, is drafting dudes who’ve had major injuries, hence being undervalued. It’s a shitty strategy, but one we definitely seem to follow.
