CPM…..would have lost this game with coaching…..

So maybe this is a key reason why Woodward hired Jay Johnson. He is a very solid college baseball coach, especially in managing the personnel he has.
He was hired to win games.
He was hired to win games.

It’s refreshing to watch our skipper pull the right strings.
Maybe it’s just a good run of luck, but it seems like he has that Skip Bertman knack for making the right substitution decisions. CPM wasn’t bad, but he didn’t have that uncanny knack.

I would hate to see what you consider bad. LOL!

CPM’s third baseman would not have made that 1st inning error, and the game might have been won in nine.
I don’t understand why some people have to make the retired coaches into enemies. Is there something in your life for which you are compensating? Did your wife leave you?

Oh, maybe someone who wasn’t named national coach of the year by THREE different prominent organizations; someone who didn’t take two different clubs to Omaha; someone who didn’t play for two national championships, winning one; someone who won’t be in the college baseball HOF. You know, someone like that.

The players won the game. The coach manages wins and losses.

Man i've really liked how JJ and Kelly have managed pitchers this year.. but i'll admit i was skeptical and nervous about him pulling Gerv with 2 outs, runners at 1st and 2nd to put in Cooper. But that turned out to be the right move. Biggin was frickin electric
