We're not too far out of it, and that doesn't take into account the draftees who leave

We were #20 in another ranking system I saw the other day.
And like someone else said, these don't take into account players who leave for MLB.
Yeah, sure looks great if you sign 5 or 6 Top 10 round draftees, but what if only 1 ever makes it to campus?

You can still get a top 5 class even without signing a whole bunch of guys who leave for the MLB. E.G. LSU last year

Those are ranking after players leave. If it included players who left for the draft, North carolina would be #1 or 2.

Geaux5000- I wouldn't worry at all about the class Mainieri just pulled in to play in the spring. He got the top position player from NC (Hanover) and also LA (Nola) who are vastly underrated in recruiting services. Matulis was a top 10 pitcher from FL, with his 6'6 build plus the fact he's a southpaw=unlimited potential. Matty Otts a workhorse in the bullpen and Mikie Mahtook is already one of the most developed outfielders on LSU's roster.

I don't see how the fact that he is a southpaw, means he has unlimited potential.

David Price?
Throw 93mph as a lefty with a nasty slider and become the #1 pick?

The fact that hes a lefty holds no barring on his stuff or his potential. Does it help him? Yes, but still holds no barring.

do you have a problem with me making a comment about how a kid will have more potential as a lefty? Scouts hold that accountable when drafting someone coming straight out of HS. Take my posts with a grain of salt if you want, but lets not start an argument over something that not worth fighting.

Well, apparently these guys are producing in practice.
It does seem like we're putting together a huge class this year.

My problem was with the fact that you said he has unlimited potential because he is left handed. Being left handed does not help ability and/or potential. It helps get him noticed more, nothing else.

which gives him the great opportunity of showing his potential
in all seriousness, do you have a problem with Adam? This is the 2nd nitt-picking post you have made towards him in the last couple days.
Don't question him, the man is the encyclopedia of LSU baseball

I don't remember anything of that nature. I have no problem with him.

Personally I'd rather face a RHP who's 5'11 and throws 90mph than a LHP who's 6'6 and throws the same speed. I may have confused everyone with the wording on which I presented them, no hard feelings either way.

He said 6'6" lefty. It was a very good point. You are off base.
