Feel bad for him. He's put in all the work, came back to play for the Tigers and just seems that he is not getting the same length of rope as others. Just wondering if anyone else is thinking the same...

Have you not been following CJJ'S pitching decisions? He was in the get a ground ball, and he did.

To me Fontenot rarely comes in and slams the door. He walks batters consistently and has never been able to gain control of his pitches. Just don’t think JJ trusts him due to his inconsistency to demand the strike zone. When he is on his stuff is nasty but you can’t walk two batters and then try to strike out three.

IMO To be honest he has not really pitched all that great really all year. Everyone has a role to play. Obviously his last night was to induce a ground ball. It’s a shame his defense let him down.

Fontenot did his job. Poor defense caused the outcome to be a hit and an additional run. The winning run. He’s available for the rest of the weekend. Hilliard and maybe Cooper are the only pitchers burned. He’ll get more chances to pitch.

Do some of you just look at the box score and imagine scenarios in your head to complain about?

Coop only threw 22 pitches
Reyz only threw 24

Our BP should be good.

The only silver lining is Arkies Tygart threw 45 so we shouldn’t see a lot of him going forward.

JJ’s job is to win, not make sure Fontenot is happy. If you haven’t noticed, our bullpen has been nails. JJ is doing a great job with the management of them

I’ve also noticed Fontenot’s velo has gone down and he’s relying primarily on his slider now. Not sure why given what he’s been for 4 years, but that may have something to do with his reduced role.
