Something simple but effective, I don't have anyone to teach me, something I can self learn? Links to product appreciated. I have always received great advice here, hoping for more!
If it matters, it's for public land in mountain territory.

Grab a slate or box call. Check out YouTube. You can be plenty good enough fast

Box call. YouTube the Will Primos videos. Helped me out big time.

Slate call, variety of pegs. I really can't point to a specific one . All my stuff is from back in the day. I'd have to hear it/ try it.
Primos has a 3 pack of pegs. One is the grave digger, one is purpleheart. The grave digger is one of two of my best peg.
Years of going out before season and getting amongst real hens yelping for Toms, is your best teacher. You learn that raspiness, and that whine that leads into the first yelp.

If it’s out west, a box for sure. It’ll cut the wind and can get loud.
Aluminum slate is also good for out west.

When it is time to actually hunt..... less calling will bring in a tom vs. calling to much. Use mostly soft call at first and wait 15 to 20 minutes before making any more calls.
If you know there is a Tom in the area, wait longer to call again.

I’d recommend a box call. I keep a Lynch’s World Champion in my vest, but they’re all about the same these days.
Scott Ellis has an app called “Turkey Tech” that is very helpful. I use to listen to sequences and compare with my own, but it has everything you’ll need to know for beginner turkey hunter. Plus Scott Ellis is a pretty good instructor.
Good luck!

Find a Push Button call and try that. It’s fool proof.

I just started turkey hunting this year and was able to call one in Saturday with a Primos Jackpot slate call I picked up at Bowie last weekend. Also got the Primos waterbaord box call. Good luck!

How, its not out yet.
And if he would not do all that cutting, i could judge better. Just yelp.

Push call. Slate can get wet and leave you screwed. Learn the correct cadence then move up to slate or box.
