On my way home from Gainesville Sunday morning I got a $201 speeding ticket for going 85 in a 70. I figured it was ok, I just got caught. Got back on the road, kept driving, not thinking anything of it. Then I started to notice that speed traps were everywhere in Florida, but only Louisiana people were getting pulled over (I'm not just seeing something that's not there...I checked every licence plate after I got pulled over and not one wasn't from Louisiana). I stayed in with packs of cars from (mostly) Florida and Louisiana, never "flying" when I wasn't in a pack of cars. Is this Florida state troopers kicking us when we're down, or am I just being paranoid? Was anyone on this board one of the many tiger fans who got a ticket?

That and a combination of driving over the speed limit.

read whole post...I know I was speeding, but why were only louisiana plates being pulled over? I know some officers, and when they radar a group, that's all going the same speed, they just pick one from the group. Do you think that maybe the Florida state troopers were picking the LA plates out of the groups of speeders?

I'm not talking about my ticket, that was deserved, I mean in general.

Let me guess....Madison County? They use that as a major source of revenue. I believe they have even had a newspaper article about them and all the speed traps.

You think all of the cops are Gators and have it out for the Tigers? Come on. Maybe if it were UGA plates.

I've had a couple of Alabama state troopers behing me on the road and i can see them using their laPtops (surprisingly, they know how to use "Dem dere computer thingy") to check my LA license plate number. It's about everytime im traveling through that great state of Alabama.

Think about it, who is more likely to just pay the fine and be done with it? Someone from out of state! Happens everywhere

Maybe the people in Florida know where the speed traps are.

Maybe all the Floridians know where the traps are?

Our King Air topped out at about 230MPH, no tickets. Baggage check at New Roads Inter-Continental was a breeze!

once again, not talking about my ticket, just all of them. I'd understand if i saw some other state plates out there. I deserve my ticket, not saying anything about that, just talking about all of the la plates together

I'd think that, but no one ever slowed down, like I said, I stayed in the middle of the packs...if anyone in the pack slowed down, everyone else did, too...including me. Wish I could have been on a plane, too, but too expensive..at least it was more expensive...

Out of State ticket = $, less likely to get fixed, lot less bullshite. If there's a pack of cars they'll hit the OOS. Solution? Don't speed.
