re: Replay of LSU/UF online?

Check out www.planetgator.com soon in the coming days.
Regardless of team affiliation, I have no problem with it. If he did it again, there should be some punishment but this was just excitement for a career game for Spikes. These guys are just getting excited. It's no different than the unnecessary flips players do in the endzone, IMO.

You think all of the cops are Gators and have it out for the Tigers? Come on. Maybe if it were UGA plates.

If you thought our tailgating sucked, you were just in the wrong places. I've been to almost every school in the SEC, and while our tailgating isn't the BEST, it's pretty good.
Like I've said on here before, if you drink AT a tailgate, you're fine regardless if it is in some McDonald's cup. The only No-No is walking around campus with a drink. Stay in one spot and you're fine, trust me. Technically we ARE a dry campus, like many others, but it is not enforced unless you are clearly walking around campus with an open container.

That's an awesome stat job if true, LOL.

We are 7-0 on CBS under Meyer so something has to give.

re: Gainesville bars

UF student here.

It depends what you're looking for. The Swamp really isn't a bar, IMO. It's got a bar, but it's also a big restaurant. Also, it's a lot nicer than most places on University and the drinks are more expensive. Just west of there is a big plaza full of lots of bars: Gator City, Copper Monkey, Balls, Grog, Salty Dog, etc. These are a bit more of the college crowd. It has cheaper drinks but are more of the hole-in-the-wall type places and are a lot smaller. So...

The Swamp = if you want the nicest bar-type place near the stadium. You'll find more of an older crowd (with students as well) and you'll pay higher drink prices. It is also the most packed place on University so it's ridiculously hard to get a table.

Gator City = pretty large place. It actually has two bars/rooms. This is actually my favorite place. It's got pool tables and a bunch of other bar-games in the back with the 2nd bar.

Grog = This place usually has some of the cheapest drinks (even free beer sometimes). There are only a few tables though and this place can get pretty packed with college kids.

Balls = I think my bedroom is bigger than this place. And Balls is also pretty disgusting (no pun intended). Maybe check it out if you're bar hopping but I wouldn't make a night of it.

Salty Dog = Similar to Balls (next door) but bigger and not as disgusting. This place is pretty good and a lot of students like it and go there.

Copper Monkey = This place is around the corner from the other places and upstairs. But it's a pretty good place. They have good drink prices usually and they've got quite a few tables. It can get pretty packed at times (but so can all of them).

It's a joke moron.

Thanks for clearing that up, tough guy.

Brandon Lafell had 40 TD catches last year (although 20-25 of those were dropped)

Do you really think that's the same thing? And I think the correct way to say he had 40 TD catches would be that he dropped 36, seeing as he only caught 4.

Regardless, you can kick to BJ if you want, but if you want to win, I don't think it's a very good strategy.
The rule to abide by is simple. If you are of legal age, which I'm assuming most of you are, just make sure you are only drinking AT a tailgate. Don't walk down the street with a can of beer and you'll be fine. If you want to take that risk, you can, but if a cop sees you, you'll likely get a written arrest. But they won't bother you if you're at a tailgate (no matter what colors you're wearing).

As far as getting it into the stadium, it isn't too hard. We bring things in all the time. If you're a guy, usually they won't even touch you. Sometimes they will, but they'll just pat down the sides of your pants or something. If you're concerned, just put your flask/bottle/etc in somewhere where you know the cops won't touch... like your arse. Just put your goods between your wallet and your arse and you're set.

Just be careful whipping out liquor in the stadium because if someone spots you, you'll get kicked out. But if you are discreet, you're good.

Any more questions feel free to ask.
The guy is the best returner in our program's history and has like 10 return TDs (although 4-5 have been called back). I know if he was playing for my opponent, I sure as hell wouldn't want to kick to him.

It is right in the middle of the Florida student section though which is rather interesting.

There is about a 20 row buffer of alumni between that visitor's patch and our student section, but you are still in some jeopardy of typical SEC student section antics. Personally, I wouldn't want to sit that close to the field because I like to get a little depth perception, but you will get a cool angle on the game as you'll see what's happening on the LSU sideline and as another poster said, you'll probably hear some bone-crushing hits.
