Why dont parents just say no? Is it your house or not?
This right here. Also, if you don’t want them playing video games, go play with them. Make up some baseball or basketball game. Go play touch football or break out the board games.
I know I use the outdoor games as a way to get a little exercise for myself and my kids have a blast watching their fat old man goofing off with them

This is the worst aspect of modern parenting, IMO.
My parents never played sports with me. I don’t ever remember my old man doing any of that shite; the kids would all organize the games and we would play sports without parents. The ability of children to self regulate and manage themselves has all but eroded.

This.
Me and my 7 year old son have had an absolute blast since the outside temp has warmed over the past month or so. Me and him will go out back and run routes against an imaginary defense for a couple hours when the other neighborhood kids aren't around. When they are around, we've had some pretty fun and intense wiffle ball and two hand touch football games lately. My son is one of the youngest put of about 6 other neighborhood boys and they are just stronger and faster than him so they humble him sometimes. But occasionally he will beat one of the older boys and the joy that brings him is very apparent. He was reminding me just this morning about a sick catch he made on the 10 year old this past weekend. "Remember when I 'Mossed' Phil this weekend daddy? It was so sick."
Almost brought a tear of joy to my eye.
