To get the best, you almost have to sign a life long contract with both breeder and trainer.

Really don’t know what you mean by this. Please clarify.

In my opinion, the top level dogs in any breed…lab, boykin, gsp, etc. will be in such high demand that the breeder will pick suitors that will give their dogs the best chance to succeed. In the Hunt Test circle, that means offspring get titles.

Best chance at getting titles will be owners that professionally train their dogs. Some breeders require an agreement for the dog to reach a certain level / certification, as well.

An FC afc x GRHrCh litter will not be sold to a casual hunter. Chances are the breeder will hand pick the owners. Those that can talk the talk and have plans for their puppy to train and reach a certain level will get the puppy.

Same goes for trainers. They don’t want just any dog. They only have so much space, sometimes even on their truck / trailer. They also want repeat business, aka longer term customers.

I’m not saying all are like this, but if you want the top dogs and top trainers, this is the game.
