This isn’t a big deal. I’ll tell one thank you for your service if they thank me for paying taxes.

I did serve 6 years, I am quite proud of it. I didn't really like to be thanked I never liked being singled out it made me feel uncomfortable. But I did appreciate the respect.
FWIW, we pay taxes also.

joe_cotton: You must have cotton for brains! Everyone pays taxes and I don't think your life is on the line by doing so. You sound like an ungrateful piece of shite, so next time you encounter a veteran just tell them that you paid taxes and you think you did as much for the country as they did.
