Yeah yeah I know basketball is on but finals for wrestling just started on ESPN.

Board favorite from the Olympics Gable Steveson is the last match.

Nick Suriano (Michigan) just won 5-3 over Pat Glory (Princeton) to start the finals off.

Brother I understand you think that’s funny but most of these cats will transition to UFC.

Only WWE guy will probably be Gable and he’s gonna become the new John Cena and be the face of it.

PSU already locked up the team title earlier this morning.

Roman Bravo-Young won this matchup in the finals last year in OT, should be a great end to the match

What Cael is doing there is just incredible.

If US Wrestling was ever smart, they aren’t, they’d make Smith, Sanderson, Monday the next set of National Team coaches.

There’s really not a true “National Coach”, all of these guys have Regional Training Centers (RTC) and their coaches there are matside.

That being said, Penn State’s RTC is churning out champs nonstop and top guys are going to there to get coached by Cael

I mean yeah Zadick is, but when you watch you’ll see their RTC coach in their corner at huge events.

And Zadick has been it for years and has gotten the US to a spot internationally it hasn’t been ever. We won the World Championships for the first time only a few years ago (credit to coaching at youth/college level)

Clarke being in law school and somehow making it to the finals is unreal. How do you find time to do anything much less study??

PSU has the best recruiting footprint of any team. Sanderson has done a great job and I bet his attention to detail and drive has made him a great coach.

Have been some great matches so far. Was hoping Fix would have pulled off the win. Came close. I wrestled for Ohio University and then Ohio State many many years ago.

I just started following wrestling 3 years ago when my kids started, I love it as a youth sport, no politics and you get what you give,

Congrats to the kid from Mizzou. Smart wrestling and he was clearly the aggressor capitalizing on the reversal

You are absolutely correct. You get back what you put into it. Wrestling is an incredible sport, that’s rewarding far after your competitive career is over. The physical and mental discipline required is like nothing else. I’ve coached kids that worked their asses off, and never won a single match. But years later many told me that they became the successful men they are today largely in part bc of the discipline and work ethic they learned from wrestling. If your kids like it, keep them involved. You won’t regret it, and neither will they!

Wrestling made me who I am. Not the W/L, but the effort I put into practices and waking up early, cutting weight, and everything in between to a disciplined diet at all times.

No sport is like it and “The only thing you deserve is what you earn”- Tom Brands is the most true quote ever.

Side note Lewis vs Starocci is match of the night
