The cult that is catholicism.

Catholicism came long before any other Christian faith. It’s the church directly founded by Christ 2,000 years ago, and it has survived to this day.

I would rather take my chances with something founded directly by Christ that has legitimate power and authority from Him rather than join some random church founded by Pastor Joe Blow based on his personal interpretation of the Bible (which was written and compiled by the Catholic Church, ironically).

Please explain the Crusades, indulgences, novenas for the dead, church "tradition" being equal to the teachings of Christ and the apostles, and the actual body and blood of Jesus at every mass.

Because it was written in a book 100 years after his death, at a time when 90% of people couldn't read or write lol.

Nothing was founded directly from Christ. None of the gospel writers ever met him. So your chance taking is equal with the priest as it is with Jesus.

It pains me to say it but it's the truth nevertheless. The catholic church got Matthew 16:18 completely wrong which has had unfortunate ramifications through today.

When Jesus said "Upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it", he meant that the "rock" in verse 16 was Peter's confession that Jesus was the Christ (the Messiah), the Son of God. Romans 10:9 says "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved".

The Church (the Bride of Christ) is everyone since then who has put his/her faith alone in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. These born again believers make up the Church that Jesus refers to. I love Ephesians 1:13-14 which shows us the rewards and promise for true saving faith, the kind that inspired the song "Amazing Grace". Also look up the verses in Romans (google the Roman Road to salvation) on how one becomes added to the Lamb's Book of Life for eternity.

Jesus never wanted or needed a corrupt, man made institution to represent his message to the world. The Catholic Church has done every bit as much evil as good in the world and if you deny that you are delusional.

Christ did not teach us that we have to have another flawed human intercede for us. He also taught the opposite of what that catholic church does, hoard riches that could cure world hunger.
The Catholic religion of current times is based on hypocrisy and greed, not Jesus.

Found the one. This post right here.

Dumbest thing I’ve ever read, and there isn’t any possible way someone who breathes without assistance truly believes this.

Roman Catholicism certainly did not/was not.

It’s the largest, most complex, and most long-lived money making scheme in the history of mankind manipulating people in the name of Christ. And worse.
