No defensive shakeup and Berry still in RF. It’s official, CJJ does not read the Rant.

Let's do this!

Also, sorry in advance if I mistype the McNeese DH's name as "Orgeron" at some point

I’m getting a little nervous that JJ did actually promise Berry he’d play a position all year. I’ve thought he’s just gonna eventually swap him and Jobert. But damn, SEC starts next week, Jobert could use some in-game reps in RF.

It won’t be Jobert in the OF. It’ll be Gio.

Or maybe JJ is like Les Miles and doesn't give a rats butt what anyone else thinks.

Sounds like it's Patrick Wright and Buzzy Haydel on the radio call tonight, Chris Blair is in Tampa for basketball.

Hellmers is my guy. I would love to see him develop into a weekend guy whether is starting or some time of reliever.

I know you’re a huge Gio guy for whatever reason, but no. Jobert simply has to be in this lineup. Gio can get spot starts in place of Dugas until he gets hot and come in and PH for a right-handed guy against a RH pitcher and finish the game as a defensive replacement. But there’s no way you take Jobert out of the lineup for the little extra defense Gio may give you.

Why is that? Because he came off the bench for Cade and had a few good games against meat cans? As opposed to a senior who’s a good fielder and has consistently hit against SEC pitching?

So we’re benching Dugas before Jobert

If he’s taking the advice of couch coaches, internet gurus, and travel ball dads, I don’t want him anywhere near the baseball program.

But I still would like to hear his reasoning for not switching Doughty and Merrifield. And for continuing the adventure of Berry in RF.

It's pretty obvious that he promised Berry an opportunity at a position in the field at the very least.

Umm maybe because Gio has proven himself in SEC play?
