If you spent $40 per week on gas (we are assuming Trump is still in office and not Brandon's gas prices), that is $2080 per year, so it would take 27 years to make your money back. That's not even counting the rise in your electric bill.

I know there are other factors to consider. Just poking fun at Mayor Pete's cluelessness

Ask a typical liberal how they feel about mining, then take them down the logic of how electric cars and electrical infrastructure are made

Where are the charging stations if you travel any distance?
These damn fools are pursuing the same policy that the Germans did. And look where that has gotten them.

Math is hard but you did that wrong (disclaimer - I will never buy an EV other than UTV). You need to subtract the cost of a gas car from the cost of the electric one. Then do the math. Your equations assume you don't have a car and your only option is an EV.

And since battery life is 10-20 years you are actually looking at 2-3X YEARS making your money back on THE FIRST CAR.

And hungry people ought to eat less to shrink their stomach and ease the hunger pains, and so they don't have to spend the extra energy required to carry the unwanted fat. It also makes they weaker - so they save the energy demanded by that extra manifestation of activity.

Right and the home charger installation is not free

Or the increase in your car insurance cost. Cause there’s no way in hell my wife and I would get rid of our vehicles and solely rely on an electric vehicle for our primary car.

/\ THIS /\ is the basis of my argument (admittedly unresearched on my part) Seems like it would put a tremendous impact to demand and extra 500,000,000 barrels of oil worth of kilowatt energy every day.

With China and Afghanistan controlling like 90% of the mines do you think battery costs will get cheaper?

A secondary message in that ad is that we don’t even use that technology anymore.

Decent chance innovation can produce a battery that is not dependent on resources from those areas.

Not at all certain. The only thing that IS certain is change.

My wife has a Prius. We hardly drive it because....well it's a Prius and there's not a lot of room. She had it before we got married FWIW.

I see what you're trying to do but...

quote:

The invention of the first model electric vehicle is attributed to various people.[7] In 1828, the Hungarian priest and physicist Ányos Jedlik invented an early type of electric motor, and created a small model car powered by his new motor. Between 1832 and 1839, Scottish inventor Robert Anderson also invented a crude electric carriage.[8] In 1835, Professor Sibrandus Stratingh of Groningen, the Netherlands and his assistant Christopher Becker from Germany also created a small-scale electric car, powered by non-rechargeable primary cells.[9]

History of the Electric Car

Electric cars are much much older than hard drives.
