The problem is most people alive today weren’t alive during a real war between powers. They don’t know the horrors of it so they don’t work as hard to prevent it. It’s just a story in history to them

And, to the ignorant, green, twenty-somethings who are working in the White House for this administration, it may not even be "just a story in history." To folks their age, in our times, history begins on their birth. If it happened before they were born it's just a nice myth told by their grandparents and screenwriters.

Nuclear torpedo wouldn’t have kicked off nuclear war… nobody would’ve known what happened to those 2 submarines and they would’ve been presumed lost at sea. K-129 sank right off Hawaii, nobody knows what really happened to it

Nah you are wrong. We would absolutely know 100%. 1st the seismic detectors would show the blast. Also the left over fragments and isotopes can be tracked. They can even tell you exactly what mine the uranium was mined in.
