Related to my dad…Took my dad to visit him about 2 years ago…seemed healthy physically but was suffering from Alzheimer’s….he was a great man.
Irony is my dad seemed in better shape than him at that time but he passed away this summer.

Not trying to top your story, but I remember Dalton Jones hitting a few home runs out onto Winbourne Ave. LSU2THEMAX, I may have to check the distance on that shot on the roof.

Now every time Mooney sets the hook, it will be a 5 plus pounder. Enjoyed fishing with and against him. RIP.

Roy (Mooney) Winston! I played baseball and football with him at Istrouma HS back in the good ole days! He was a great guy and even greater athlete!

Did you know Max Thiel as well?

I met him at WZ's fishing store on Airline years ago. Made a really nice impression on me. Great guy.

I'm not seeing this anywhere else. Are we sure he's deceased?

Did Moonie have propery and horse off a Pecue Lane close to where they a building the next exit to I-10?

Pretty sure it was him...but it could another former LSU great but I am almost certain it was him. I would see him almost everyday feeding the horses.

My Dad graduated from Istruma as well.
