I thinks it's because our running attack as it stands is what our opponents worry about. No need to change what works.

I believe that everyone is refering to putting him in the FB slot, not actually using him as a fullback. So as to have two of our talented backs in the same backfield with no idea which style will be used.

He compared it to using Hester at FB. The main reason Hester lined up at fullback was to be used as a receiver. At one point, the commentators even talked about how often we threw to Hester when he was lined up at fullback. Therefore, my point about Hester being a better blocker/receiver is valid in the argument.

If it is all about disquising who gets the handoff, we're better off lining up in the T.

I'm almost positive that I saw this against MSU.

They did it in an earlier game too (App I think), and we ran the wheel route to the FB play that Hester had called back againt Ark. The QB just didn't throw Scott the ball, he went somewhere else.

Scott is a horse like Hester so you just ride him
all day long. Just feed him the ball.

it could work for a play or two a game.

I'm o.k. with it as a way to isolate defensive players and create advantageous matchups, but not as an every-down kind of thing.

I WAS WATCHING HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST YEARS FLORIDA GAME AND ONE OF KIELANDS SCORES WAS ON A SIMILAR PLAY WITH THE FULLBACK DIVING AND HIM (KIELAND) GETTING THE TOSS ON THE CORNER. I NEVER MEANT FOR CS TO BLOCK. I MEANT TO EITHER SPREAD OUT THE DEFENSE OR DRAW THEM IN TO PUT KIELAND/MURPHY OUT ON THE CORNER WITH NO ONE OR AT MOST ONE PERSON TO BEAT TO GET TO THE ENDZONE.
