Going to a concert in Lafayette on a Saturday night in April. Was thinking about going early on Friday and making a weekend out of it.

I don’t know anything about Lafayette really. Where would be an ideal place to stay near the Cajun Dome? What are some good restaurants nearby? We don’t necessarily have to stay near the venue, Uber is an option. Would appreciate some help planning this trip.

Wasn’t sure to post this on the music board, food board, or here…

Morgan Wallen on the 23rd?

Nothing is too far from anything around here to be honest. The Cajun dome isn't too far from downtown or the River Ranch area so it's really about what you want to do before and after the concert. Bars, Dinner, Music, just chill out?

River Ranch has quite a few new hotels and plenty of nice restaurants and Downtown has quite a few bars and restaurant but I don't go down there at night anymore so I am not the one to offer advice. It depends on what you like to do but if you are coming the weekend of the 27th then it is really crowded downtown as that a big festival. Anytime before that and you should have no problem with lodging or food.

This may help you get an idea of the area

The biggest spring festival is the Festival International on April 27 - May 1, but there is probably a different festival every week in April . Just check out that link above.

I enjoy hanging out Downtown so I'd suggest that option, it's ~5 minute Uber ride to the Cajundome and has a ton of options. The Juliet hotel is supposed to be pretty nice according to some friends that have stayed there, but no first hand experience for me.

From there you've got a couple really good fine dining options in Vestal and Pamplona. Pamplona is my current favorite in Lafayette but we have Vestal booked for our anniversary dinner in a few weeks to try out.

There's also a bunch of really good casual options as well. Spoonbill, Pops Poboys, Central Pizza, Tsunami, Hideaway on Lee, Ye Ole College Inn are all good options. Agave and La Caretta are meh for Mexican food. French Press for brunch.

As for entertainment/things to do. On a pretty day I could hang out at the Wurst Biergarten all day long, they'll sometimes have bands playing or even a comedy show in the evening. Rock N Bowl usually has bands on weekends as well, the same with Hideaway on Lee. You're also not too far from Blue Moon Saloon.

Everything I've mentioned above is all within walking distance of the Juliet as well, I know you mentioned Ubering so wasn't sure if you'd have a car or not.

If you do have a car you can also make a Sunday drive to Arnaudville, have brunch at Little Big Cup then go hang out at Bayou Teche Brewery. They have some pretty solid wood fire pizzas and usually a cajun jam band on Sunday afternoons.
