I honestly don’t remember. It was 8 years ago and I was in a hurry to get gone. I really wanted to serve the country ever since 911, but I was in middle school then.

I finished high school and went straight to the recruiter. All I remember is being in the best shape of my life and wanting to be in the Marines. Told him about my knee and he immediately suggested the army. Also, I’m a big dude and he said they preferred shorter guys for whatever reason.

im more concerned about there being any "good" left in America worthy of fighting for. when i was a kid 80's, i would absolutely fight for the USA. Now, the USA despises me and tells me i am evil. no way im fighting for the USA and its current corruption.

It's a shitty reason. Transport aircraft, particularly C130 planes, are designed primarily for those between 5'4-5'10 and between 140-210 lbs.

During an airborne operation, the cadence "64 troopers on a 1-way trip" is NOT an exaggeration. They literally smash you together as close as possible at full capacity.

I did sign up and I had a ranger option in my contract. My ACL and meniscus was surgically repaired after football injuries and my recruiters told me to lie about it so I’d get the ranger option. One of the recruiters snitched on the others for telling me to lie and so I had to wait 6 months to re enlist. I met my wife during that time. If we decided to go to war with Russia I’d sign back up in a heartbeat.
