No official word yet, but another article on MSN earlier today said the choice is Ketanji Brown Jackson, a former Breyer law clerk

quote:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden has decided on his choice for the U.S. Supreme Court, a person familiar with the process said on Thursday.

Potential nominees include Ketanji Brown Jackson, a former Breyer law clerk confirmed by the Senate last June to serve on an influential U.S. appellate court, and Leondra Kruger, who serves on the California Supreme Court. Another potential contender is Michelle Childs, a federal district court judge in South Carolina who Biden already has nominated to the U.S. appeals court in Washington.

Black women should be pissed that this person will forever have an asterisk next to her name since it was declared ahead of time the primary requirement is skin color and sex rather than merit.

But I doubt logic prevails and instead they rejoice FJB instead.

Is this where a Senator uses Biden’s same argument against him when Bush was considering nominating a black woman SCJ 17 years ago?

No, but she is related to former House Speaker Paul Ryan through marriage.

Convenient that he decides while everyone is distracted by the Russia/Ukraine thing.

That is directly in line with CRT. Merit is irrelevant to them. They want straight tokenism without regard to merit. It's in their governing literature, particularly the writings of Duncan Kennedy and Crenshaw.

So now we'll have two judges on the Supreme Court who have historically terrible takes on the law?
