NATO members engaged in regime change in the Ukraine and military action in Syria which directly threatened key Russian military holdings at Sevastapol and Tartus.

Last I checked neither of those places are in Russia.

At least not yet anyway.

There is no "the" in Ukraine.

Also, Viktor Yanukovych was an a-hole. There's a reason why so many were happy to see him go.
