Obama, and McCain were ALL in favor of it. W pulled a Forrest Gump (that’s a fine idea), and have them the support of the US. Europe hated W so that had shite for traction.

So ultimately, why weren’t they admitted?

A such, Europe dragging their feet isn’t a shock. Nonetheless, I have no doubt that they were going to get in with Biden supporting their entry. Going against FJB’s wishes would have shown a divide amongst the ruling class. It wasn’t going to happen. Like as not, the world will do whatever it takes to support the ice cream eater, just because it isn’t OMB.
