This is why the Matthew Stafford HOF talk is crazy to me. Good job to him on winning a SB. But he's never been a top 3, hell, even top 5 qb.
Keep the HOF for the likes of Brady, Manning, Favre, Rogers, Brees, and maybe Big Ben.
Once you start trying to include guys like Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford. It really becomes watered down. The next thing you know they'll try to include guys on the level of Cam Newton and Ryan Tannehill.

quote:Stafford had some big numbers on a shitty team, but couldn't win. 1st overall pick. Finally won when he got to a good franchise with the rest of the pieces in place. Still had some crappy plays (his INT on the final play of the regular season, when a win would have affected seeding, is an example).

He's Jameis, with more tenure in the league. And I'd say that had Jameis stayed healthy and the Saints add one good WR late in the season (OBJ? He'd have instantly become the Saints #1, instead of the Rams second option), Jameis leads the Saints to the Super Bowl instead.
And no, I don't think Jameis would be a HoF qb due to that.
