He makes that catch and it’s a first down. At least another two minutes come off the clock. At a minimum the Bengals will get three points and push this thing to a tie had the Rams scored.

He blew it!

Dude won’t be able to sleep for a week without being wasted. He may relive that play for years.

He should have caught that pass. But can't really put the blame on him. He still likely a yard shy. And the bengals would had to go for it 4th and 1 on their own 48

Edit* I mean punt anyways

Second possession of the 3rd quarter cost the Bengals the game. When you get a gift like they did and you cannot move the ball and have to settle for a field goal it portends a problem later. Same thing happened in the NFCCG for the Saints when they could have put the Rams away early with an interception even deeper in. Had to settle for a FG. Saints lost . Cindy lost.

Will say this. There are other " parallels" to that game and this game. Was Vinovich the ref last night?

That was the nail in the coffin opportunity, and they blew it. I just knew that rest of the game was going to look like that drive. The Rams had finally figured out how to break through the Cincy o-line scheme.

It absolutely amazes me how Taylor never seemed to adjust and go to short routes and screens to get some pressure odd Burrow. Hell, the one time they put a bunch of big guys on the o-line, Mixon had a nice run. Then they never did it again.

For as much praise as some people were throwing Taylor's way for the 2nd half of the AFC Championship, he doesn't adjust at all on offense. The things that worked they just didn't do enough of. I don't think they ever went back to the RB draw either, and that one worked really well the one time they ran it.

I don't know if that drop makes much of a difference because he might very well have come up short, but it is definitely one of those "what if" moments in the game.
