Yep, that's why I'm hesitant to pull the switch (pun intended). If I can't interpret this law on face value, then I'm sure there are a lot of cops who can't either, and I just don't want to waste my time and money fighting it in court.

Not a cop fan generally. If they are charging you with something like this though, it's likely that you fricked up in multiple ways. They are trying to stick on whatever else they can. Bowie used to only sell to LEO and EMS but they sell to everyone now. I carry 2 different types and don't worry about it.
