Tried them as a kid and hated them.
Too uncomfortable. They restrict ankle movement when walking and force wearers to have an unnatural walk.
I’m convinced that outside of riding horses where they fit nicely into stirrups (which also makes them perfect for gynecological exams), they are strictly high heels for men or part of a costume that enables grown men to keep pretending they are cowboys.

Used to hate them. Bought a cheap pair in college and they were horrible. A couple of years ago I saw a YouTube video on how to properly get fitted. So I went by their advice and found a great fitting pair of Dan Post for around $200. You can't get me out of them now. You can wear them all day and they feel great. Bought my daughter a pair for Christmas.

Anyone recommend a pair to go with a tux?
Sooooooooooo?
I would say don't. Unless you're an oil tycoon or a rich rancher, it's déclassé at worst, or a misplaced affectation at best.

Man I don't know that I agree. A good shiny black pair would look great I think, I just don't have any idea about styles or brands.

Very nice Clint. Do those elven boots protect you in your journeys outside middle earth?
Do you have any idea how gay that looks? Do they come with matching chaps?

I've got a pair
I doubt it.

I agree and Brand doesn't matter as long as they are clean and shined up. I usually wear black with tuxes. You can even get buy wearing ropers with the short heal as long as they look good.

Every single day. At work on the ranch, in the office in jeans/slacks, to church, etc. I’ve got about eight pair ranging from ostrich to caiman.

Thanks for catching that grave error. It’s nice having a backup spell checker.

You people are the hoi polloi.
There are certain social rules that generally should be followed when wearing tuxes. Those rules can be bent or even broken by certain people. Generally, your typical OT poster is not someone who should be bending or breaking those rules.

Do not wear shoes that hit ankles, not a cowpoke and certainly do not pretend to be.

Haha I couldn't help myself.

I was gonna buy a gmc dually.
My wife said she’d make me wear boots and chaps 24/7 if I bought it.

I do and so does the wife. She wears them gardening in shorts, with a sassy lil sundress when working in the yard and out and about.
I enjoy the view from behind, especially when she bends over.

Occasionally in the fall or winter whenever I feel like wearing boot cut pants. Not often though.

I do.
I bought em in Laramie when I eloped with my wife.
I also like the show Justified, a lot.
I’m also a cowboy.
Yeehaw.

Because leather boots are still in style for manly footwear.
