Thoughts on Wade

First off, the dude is a good coach. I truly believe that. One thing that a lot of fans forget is that he is still 39. In terms of coaches, that's really young. Some of the challenges that the team has faced this season would be hard for even an experienced coach to work through, but I think for Wade he just didn't really have the answer. He has proven that when he has the guys that he wants on the court and the roster set how he wants, he can win. However, these last 6 games shows that when that's not the case he struggles to adapt and get creative. But the thing is, that's okay. Find me a coach that had everything figured out 9 years into coaching and only 5 years coaching against competition like the SEC right now. Coach K didn't make it past the Round of 32 until his 11th season. Same with Jay Wright. shite look at how long it took Scott Drew to turn Baylor around. Does it suck to lose? Absolutely. Is he to blame for some of it? Of course. But that doesn't mean that its time to throw the towel in on him or his ability as a coach. He will continue to learn and mature as a coach. Now, if he still has the same problem in 5 years or so, then we may have a problem. But for now, we need to just ride out the storm and let him (and his players for that matter) grow and develop and get better.

He is the basketball equivalent of O. Like O, he needs outstanding assistants to instill discipline, organization, good schemes, etc.
IMO.
IMO.

Nick Saban broke our fanbase. For whatever reason they call for the firing of a coach the first time the going gets tough.
We were supposed to go 13-5 and win the league according to people on here despite every national media outlet having us finishing 7th or 8th. And win the league while battling injuries.
Alabama lost to Mizzou, Georgia, Davidson, and fricking Iona. Yet Beat Baylor, Gonzaga, and Houston. They will have you believe because of last night, the season is over

IMHO, the LSU Tiger Nation is better-advised to give him more time BUT I'm going to maintain a very reserved level of enthusiasm for this program, this coach and these players.
It won't be the end of the world if they don't make the Big Dance this season. In fact, I won't be surprised if they don't.

hes made bball more exciting for sure, but until there's actual results I don't think hes going to get that much more fan support than he has already. Basketball is already the number 3 sport at LSU, and it will probably always be far behind football and basketball. Personally, I like him, hes made it fun, but im also not a big bball person.

Or 3 (maybe 4) consecutive tourney teams for the first time in 3 decades

I must have missed where Trent Johnson consistently produced NCAA tournament teams and brought in 5 star recruits following the 2009 season

I don't really get excited for being one of the Top 65 teams in the country
