I guess it is subjective, but of that list, Vienna was my least favorite.

As for the OP, you now have some great suggestions.

Here are some of mine...

Creaky Krumlov - less than 5 hours w / a stop
Private driver - 54 Euros

Hallstatt (Lake Hallstatt) - less than 4 hours
Rent a car

Lake Bled - less than 5 hours with a stop
Private driver 69 Euros

Venice, Italy - station to station in 7.5 hours
It is a beautiful ride. Over 20 trains a day on this route. It’s like 20 Euros.
A scenic train ride at that

What did you do for a phone plan?

Had a local pre-paid burner I just called/texted the other people in the program. Used wi-fi on "my phone" for everything else. Now you can get pretty cheap plans for a couple of months. Roaming plans weren't as cheap when I went.

Check out the restaurant Ottoburg in downtown Innsbruck, great Tyrolean food in a building that is 1,000 years old.

Went about 20 years ago on the UNO college program. Absolutely incredible city. Do Cinque Terre one weekend.

Summer. Incredible time of year to be in Innsbruck or anywhere around there.

I did a spring semester caught the good part of the winter and an amazing spring/summer. Skiing in the morning one class in the afternoon and drinking beers by the river in the evening.
