I am new here... but have been reading this board off and on for a few months. Some of the topics have been very interesting so I registered and wanted to get involved.

I've played every course on the Audubon Golf Trail... and just wanted hear from other golfers I don't play with often about their thoughts on the courses, conditions, operation of the trail, what you would like to see with the trail, what needs to change, etc.

I've wondered if they have the ability to offer a trail card or loyalty card program where the more times you play, you can earn free rounds or points for discounts in pro shops... something like that.

Would love to heard your points of view.

I have only played 3 of them.

I get sad every time I remember how great Gray Plantation was before Rita.

Yep, Gray was awesome pre-Rita.

Bumping this back up to the top to say... what if I told you that your input here could help inform a process that is underway to look at improving the AGT?

Phase 1 has been completed which was looking at conditions, appearance, and playability of trail courses and what might be needed at each.

As I said, your input as someone who plays and knows about the game would help inform the next phases of this process.

Back in the day the AGT required course to have a set minimual budget and that had courses maintaining at a decent conditions. they also required courses to allow walkers, which is why Koasati Pines wasn't on the list until recently. then all that went byt he wayside and AGT became just a marketing tool and it didn't matter what course conditions were.

It’s poorly marketed, geographically not laid out well, no incentives to play it, and the courses are meh (but that’s LA golf).

I agree with all of this. The "Audubon Trail" is just a marketing scheme. There is no cohesion between courses.

Furthermore, some of the courses are municipal courses. That comes with a new set of issues such as poor management, city employees, and budget constraints.

Links on the Bayou (Alex) and Wetlands Lafayette are essentially the same course, boring with a similar club house.

With all that said, I wish that the Audubon trail could become something like the RTJ. However, I am EXTREMELY doubtful it will ever happen. Why?

My bad, Oakwing is on the trail, not Links.
