Remdisvir killed a friend by blowing out his kidneys. He went into the hospital with COVID last summer.

I had it. Same age too. Antibodies worked great but it will be a month before breathing is better and 2 months before the coughing gets better. Take something like musinex to sleep maybe Niguel. But ask a Doctor I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice.

Tell them to keep asking about a transfer if they rent comfortable there. Or tell them to speak with the doc and ask all questions and demand answers in English.
Maybe the respiratory therapist would be helpful to speak it about the oxygen levels??
Very sorry to hear this.

Sounds like exactly what happened with my mom. She was prescribed Remdisvir and her organs shut down soon after.

My Functional Medicine doctor says DO NOT USE IT.
His script program is:
Ivermectin
Zpak
to start with.
Arythromycin through a nebulizer if you have breathing issues and huge dose of steroids if it gets bad.
On top of that it is a mess of vitimins including superdosing 1000mg C twice a day and 50k iu Vit D 3x a day.
It worked for me. i didnt need the nebulizer script. the ivermectin and zpak and vitimins killed covid in me in under 5 days. i had a neg PCR 16 days after my positive test.

They have tried transfer for 3 days. "No beds anywhere" is all they keep getting. And this is SMALL TOWN HOSPITAL. I literally would not stop there for stitches. They understand this also, but they went to the larger hospitals first nearby and they wouldnt do anything but send her back home. This was her onoy option. And when you cant breath, you go wherever you can. I understand fully r3mdisvir is dangerous, i myself have an Rx for ivermectin sitting on the counter. But they are past that point, and desperate.

Forgot, get her on her stomach as much as possible - proning. I still do to this day, feel better after

Are they able to visit her? If yes slip that ivermectin to her.
And yes to putting her in her belly or side to help with oxygen.
I’m so so sorry.

quote:I don't know that the kitchen sink includes remdisvir. I just said she is way past early stuff like ivermectin. But sputum culture to determine bacterial v viral would be a good help. If it's a viral pneumonia that might be chance with remdisvir than no treatment. Bacterial then it is sensitivity specific.
You throw the kitchen sink at this point.
Remdisvir with a 3% decrease to mortality rates but a 19% increased chance of kidney failure.

I wasn’t being ugly just saying to keep trying. Hell raise a ruckus and they’ll want to find a spot for her elsewhere. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
They’re lucky to have someone (you) at least trying to help get info.

Yea we are trying to get her moved. Im not family, just a neighbor and friend giving them all the info i can. I may get it and die tomorrow. But i was was proactive last yr and got myself and my parents Rx for ivermecting, and got it filled. Also have zinc, d3, vitamin c stocked up. But for neighbor at the moment, i think we are past all of that. She has been negative for covid for 9 or 10 days now. Just got the double pneumonia set in. Which is a whole diff beast

Ask the daughter if it’s viral or bacterial .. and how it’s being treated as someone mentioned before.
I don’t think the remdesiver would help with pneumonia. That’s typically antibiotics no? Just has to be the right one.
I hope that she’s being made to get up and move as well. Many here have said no matter how bad you feel to get up and move. In her case shenlikwly would need help — but it’s worth asking about.

Again good for them to have you to at least try what you can.

If her O2 saturations are in the 90's on 6-7 liter nasal cannula she should be able to easily maintain that or higher for a transport on NRB or less...for a good, long while.
Expand your hospital search...2 hours is probably a safe ride...maybe farther.
IF this hospital can't even supply a 15 lpm high flow cannula to keep her out of the 70's at night it shouldn't be open.
Hell...tell them to call the other hospitals and beg/borrow what they need.

Ummm...Proning is real.
It's been used...a lot...with success since this whole thing started.
I'm not so sure you know what you are talking about.
